DESCRIPTION:Our event season begins with the Spirit of Vincennes\, one of our largest events featuring encampments\, battle\, artillery\, and horse demonstrations\, and a festival area with food\, entertainment\, and activities for the whole family. On the historic site of Fort Sackville\, now the George Rogers Clark National Historic Park. \nThe George Rogers Clark National Historical Park and the Spirit of Vincennes\, Inc. join with the N.W.T.A. for this regional event. SUMMARY:Vermilion Valley Encampment at Forest Glen Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Lose yourself in history in the midst of a huge nature preserve! With no modern intrusions\, this site and our interpreters have a unique opportunity to present the camp life and military maneuvers of the American Revolution.  Past events held here have included competitions\, special readings and demonstrations\, and horses! \nMembers: Please register by unit with Jo Peelman of Worthington’s Company at jopeelman@gmail.com \nPARTICIPANTS: Once again at Forest Glen\, we’ll be holding a camp demonstration competition!\nThe prize: A $50 gift certificate to Townsends.\nYour demonstration can be what you want it to be: a hands-on presentation\, a ropeline discussion\, a first person interpretation\, etc.\nEach contestant will be given a short time slot (about 10 minutes) when the judges will make sure to be watching.
