The Third New York Regiment is excited to welcome you all back to Chaplin Creek Historic Village in Franklin Grove, Illinois on Saturday and Sunday August 1 and 2.
This year the event will feature a ‘School of the Reenactor’ on Saturday, rather than a typical NWTA Schedule. This ‘School’ will be an educational opportunity for reenactors by reenactors. There will be programs during the ‘School’ for military and civilian reenactors. Details on the programs are still being finalized, watch the NWTA Members Facebook page for more details closer to the date. The only things that we will be doing on Saturday that will be similar to a typical NWTA Event day, is Opening and Closing Colors/Formation, and two skirmishes/’evacuation of the village’ scenarios.
The park will be open to the public on Saturday with the ‘Big Rig Show’ occuring on that day, like last year, and we will undoubtedly have some public walking through our camp area asking questions. The public is welcome to sit in on and/or observe and learn from those ‘School of the Reenactor’ activities.
This year there will be no parade on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday’s event schedule will look very much like a typical NWTA Sunday event schedule.
