Vermilion Valley Encampment at Forest Glen Preserve

Lose yourself in history in the midst of a huge nature preserve! With no modern intrusions, this site and our interpreters have a unique opportunity to present the camp life and military maneuvers of the American Revolution. Past events held here have included competitions, special readings and demonstrations, and horses!

PARTICIPANTS: Once again at Forest Glen, we’ll be holding a camp demonstration competition!
The prize: A $50 gift certificate to Townsends.
Your demonstration can be what you want it to be: a hands-on presentation, a ropeline discussion, a first person interpretation, etc.
Each contestant will be given a short time slot (about 10 minutes) when the judges will make sure to be watching. Judging times begin Saturday at 1:00pm. Slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Reserve your time now. Contact Jo Peelman atjopeelman@gmail.com.
